Celebrating 85 Years of the Garden: THE GARDEN ANNOUNCES PRIVATE LABEL GIN COLLECTION WITH SANTAN SPIRITS

What’s a celebration without a little drink?

To commemorate Desert Botanical Garden’s 85^th anniversary in February, we are thrilled to announce a private label gin collection in partnership with Chandler-based SanTan Spirits.

“SanTan is honored to help celebrate the 85th anniversary of the Desert Botanical Gardens. The combination of this iconic Arizona landmark and our award winning gins is a collaboration that is as unique as the breathtaking desert we live in”, says Jeff Hattfield, SanTan Spirits.

The gin collection titled Gertrude’s Founders Gin pays tribute to the Garden’s founders — philanthropist Gertrude Divine Webster and Swedish botanist Gustaf Starck — and are exclusively available at the Garden in two options. The first label is the Citrus Rose Gin: Juniper & Botanicals, a blend of nine botanicals, including rosebuds, grapefruit and lavender finished with hibiscus flowers. The other label is London Dry Gin: Navy Strength, a blend of 12 botanicals, including juniper, grains of paradise, white pepper and Arizona orange peel.

Both gins will be available for sale at the Garden starting Feb. 10 for $39.85 per bottle (no sales tax). The proceeds from each sale benefit the Garden and support its mission.

The Garden chose gin for its 85^th anniversary to pay homage to Webster’s affinity for a good gin. Her drink choice was a gin martini, according to Garden historians.
