Join us at the Garden on June 9 from 7–10 p.m. for an evening of culture, connection and celebration in honor of Juneteenth. Centered around this year’s theme, Building Resilience Through Community and Joy, the event will highlight the stories, creativity and contributions of local Black-owned businesses, artists and community partners.
Juneteenth celebrates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans is a time for remembrance, resilience and joy. On June 19, 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, freedom reached Texas, marking the beginning of the end of slavery in the United States. Today, Juneteenth is recognized nationally as a celebration of freedom, resilience and community.
Guests can take in the beauty of the Garden after dark while strolling trails surrounded by desert plants and botanicals from around the world. Along the way, experience activations designed to engage the senses and celebrate culture, creativity and community. Enjoy the Clairelle Natural Fragrances Scent Trail Experience, a sensory journey inspired by the cultural lineage of Juneteenth and explore how African-heritage fragrances reflect resilience, joy and connection. You can even create own Botanical Resilience Satchel using fragrances and foraged botanicals while supplies last.
