• 1.5oz Jalapeno Infused Tequila
• .5oz Triple Sec
• 1oz Blood Orange Simple Syrup
• 3oz Gertrude’s Margarita Mix
• 3 leaves Cilantro
• 1 slice Jalapeno
Muddle cilantro and jalapeno slice in bottom of salt-rimmed glass, add ice; pour ingredients over ice and stir gently.
For home infused tequila:
• 1 jalapeno, halved (seeds remain) halved and roasted
• 1 fresno, halved (seeds remain) and roasted
• 1 liter tequila
Secure roasted chilis and seeds in cheese cloth, drop into tequila, stir to activate infusion, allow to infuse 72 hours (longer for a spicier tequila), removing cheesecloth pouch at desired level of spice. Store refrigerated.
Gertrude’s Margarita Mix
• 1 cup fresh lime juice
• 1 cup lime simple syrup (8 limes, halved steeped in 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water until sugar dissolves)
