Spend a celestial evening experiencing the night sky at the Garden, of the best locations in the city for stargazing. We will walk to an ideal location in the Garden to explore and learn about the Sonoran sky. Weather permitting, we will spend part of the evening observing Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. Instructed by Mario Gonzalez. Limit 30.

Natural History of the Sonoran Desert

Sept. 18

The Arizona Natural History course will introduce students to the geology, flora, fauna and human history of Arizona. Using information and theories from biology, ecology, geology and archaeology, the class will explore the adaptations of desert animals, plants and other life forms, the landscape that set the stage for their evolution and the human cultures that have called this desert home.
