May 6-15 | LIVE SAND ART CREATION BY ROY WASSON VALLE 

Artist Roy Wasson Valle will create a life-size image of a saguaro drawn in colored sand. The work is entitled Keystone Growth and uses the saguaro as a metaphor for the slow growth and progress a person embarks upon in a lifetime.

The work in progress will be available for viewing during all open Garden hours

Celebrate Mother’s Day and all things Mother Earth with author of “Earth Medicines: Ancestral Wisdom, Healing Recipes, and Wellness Rituals from a Curandera” Felicia Cocotzin Ruiz. Join the Garden for a book signing and Garden walks led by Felicia as she highlights some of the medicinal desert plants mentioned in her book.

Playing with Stars: Rotraut at Desert Botanical Garden

The bold and lyrical large-scale sculptures of Rotraut will enliven the Garden t​rails while a selection of her paintings and small sculpture fill the Ottosen Gallery. Known around the world, and based in Arizona, Rotraut’s artwork explores the energy of the seasons and the relationship of nature with the sky, sun and universe.

The Central Arizona Cactus and Succulent Society is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its Annual Show and Sale at the Desert Botanical Garden.  Don’t miss seeing beautifully grown, amazingly spectacular, and just plain weird cactus and succulent plants grown by Society members.

Desert Botanical Garden invites kids to engage with the outdoors around them at Cactus Clubhouse–a nature play space. The play area provides unstructured, child-led activities for kids under 12 to discover the fun of the natural world.
