Wander through the Garden’s trails by flashlight, come face-to-face with fascinating desert creatures and soak in the enchanting nighttime vibes. Discover a whole new side of the Garden and make it a night to remember with family and friends.

June 14: Father’s Day

- Treat Dad to sample the Garden’s newest spirit, Gertrude’s Founders Bourbon, created with Chandler-based SanTan Spirits a private label bourbon.
- Rad Dads Stations: Learn about the father’s role in animal and plant families. Do mesquite seed pods have a father? You bet! Do damselfly and frog fathers have a role in raising their young? Not so much. However, Gambel quail and cactus wren dads set a high bar and are very involved in raising their young!
- Creature Features: Liberty Wildlife will join us as well with their owls and raptors.
- Great Arizona Puppet Theater: Old MacDonald has moved off of the farm and onto a ranch right here in the Sonoran desert! Come along and meet all the native Arizona animals for this silly sing-along show. After each performance, stay to make your own puppet!
June 21 – Juneteenth: Roots of Innovation
Join us for a joyful celebration honoring the legacy of George Washington Carver, a pioneering Black botanist whose groundbreaking work with plants continues to inspire innovation today. Discover how Carver’s vision for agriculture and sustainability connects to Arizona’s local community. Enjoy a fun-filled evening for the whole family featuring hands-on activities like making leaf prints, exploring the many uses of plants, a free book giveaway and more! Come learn, create and celebrate the lasting impact of one of history’s great innovators.
- Desert Portal: Learn how plants of the Sonoran Desert can be used to create dyes and make a book mark painted with cochineal insect dye.
- Center for Desert Living: Discover how Carver’s vision for agriculture and sustainability connects to Arizona’s local community. Sample delicious food created by Chef Ana and take home a sweet potato plant.
- Ullman Terrace: Robia Nicole and Kreative Culture bring soul and celebration of sound to their performance.

An Evening of CommUNITY
Celebrate the joy of diversity with family friendly activities in a safe and secure environment that is inclusive and accessible for all. Whether you come to celebrate your own journey, support someone you love or enjoy the beauty of the Garden, you’ll find activities that foster creativity, reflection and knowledge of the plants and animals that inhabit the Sonoran Desert.
- Glow!: Get your glow necklace or bracelet as you enter then Garden and then create a message or artwork with Glow Chalk. Your thoughts carry the message of the night as we celebrate together. See what blossoms with your ideas.
- Scavenger Hunt: Discover the similarities between people and plants as lives are lived as nature created them. Exchange your card for a special UNITY gift as you leave at the end of the evening.
- Addis Thrasher: Join in the Glow Party on Ullman Terrace with performance artist Addis as her unique and interactive performance brings energy and excitement to diversity.
