The Great Arizona Puppet Theater will be coming to the desert this year! Create a wonderful day at the Desert Botanical Garden. Enjoy an award-winning puppet show and spend time exploring our trails and the Cactus Clubhouseour special play area for children and caregivers​.

Creepy, Crawly, Wild and Wooly | Feb. 17 | Boppart Courtyard | Performances at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m.
This award-winning show features stories about Arizona’s endangered species including the Arizona Ridge-nosed Rattlesnake, the California Condor, Sanborn’s Long-nosed Bat and a desert tortoise. Performed with beautiful rod puppets, this show is recommended for guests 5 and older.

Old MacDonald’s Ranch | May 11 | Dorrance Hall | Performances at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m.
Join us for a special Mother’s Day event. Old MacDonald has moved off of the farm and onto a ranch right here in the Sonoran desert! Come along and meet all the native Arizona animals for this silly sing-along show. After each performance, stay to make your own puppet! Puppet Making 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

The Leaf Connection

The Leaf Connection showcases the vibrant plant diversity of the Phoenix metro area through an intricate display of hand-made, ceramic leaves at Webster Center. With more than 1,000 ceramic pieces, each leaf’s design is influenced by observations community scientists record on iNaturalist, an established online platform where nature lovers share information on biodiversity.
