Personal Statement
I joined the Desert Botanical Garden as the SWIFL Intern for Central Arizona Conservation Alliance (CAZCA) program working on using community science for greenhouse gas emission tracking in Arizona. I transitioned to be the IUCN CSSG Program Officer focusing on engaging the public on endangered/threatened cacti and succulents and the research being done by the Garden and IUCN scientists. I graduated with my undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences (Conservation Biology and Ecology), and I will graduate in Spring 2026 with my master’s in biology. I believe in the importance of collaboration between fields, such as art and science, to make progress towards a more environmentally conscious society.
