The Metro Phoenix Saguaro Census 2023
Desert Botanical Garden will hold its second annual urban Saguaro Census during the month May to document more saguaros throughout the Phoenix metro area, as well as monitor the ones that were recorded last year. To fully enjoy your visit, make sure you bring these items.
Arizona’s weather is consistently sunny. Make sure to wear and reapply throughout your visit.
Bring a refillable waterbottle–the Garden has two open hydration stations.
Hat & Sunglasses
Shade your eyes so you can better take in the stunning views without squinting.
Capture all the of the beautiful plants and animals you’ll see.
The trails are easy to walk, but you’ll definitely want comfortable footwear.

The Garden is fully accessible via wheelchair, and most trails are stroller friendly. Scooters can be rented for $40 for non-members and $35 for members. Wheelchairs and electric scooters will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at admissions and will be sanitized after each use.
