Desert Botanical Garden Extends Hours, Lowers Evening Admission Price to Help Community During Heat Wave

March 14, 2026

Garden will open 6 a.m.–10 p.m. next week and offer reduced admission after 8 p.m.

Phoenix, AZ – With temperatures expected to reach 100 degrees and higher next week, Desert Botanical Garden is extending its hours to help the community safely enjoy time outdoors during the cooler parts of the day.

From March 16-22, the Garden will open at 6 a.m. and remain open until 10 p.m., allowing guests to visit during early morning and evening hours when temperatures are significantly lower.

Extreme heat can arrive quickly in the desert, particularly during unusual early-season heat waves. The extended hours aim to provide residents a safer way to experience nature while avoiding the hotter parts of the day.

To help keep the outdoors accessible during the heat wave, the Garden will also reduce the cost of admission after 8 p.m. each night. Guests can receive the discount by using the promo code HEAT26 when purchasing tickets online or by referencing the code at the Garden’s admissions gate.

“Living in the desert means respecting the heat and adjusting our routines,” said Chris Kline, President and CEO of Desert Botanical Garden. “Opening earlier and staying open later is one small way we can support our community during a week when temperatures will be unusually intense.”

Visitors are encouraged to plan visits for early morning or after sunset, stay hydrated, wear sun protection and take advantage of shaded areas throughout the Garden.

Evening visitors will also be able to experience Garden: After Dark, along with exhibitions and seasonal programs currently on view.

Next week’s experiences include:

  • FRAMERATE: Desert Pulse (Open Daily)
  • Garden: After Dark (Open Nightly)
  • Cactus Clubhouse (Open Thursday- Sunday)
  • Majestic Mariposas Butterfly Exhibit (Open Daily)
  • Mark Klett: Desert Citizens (Open Daily)
