DESERT BOTANICAL GARDEN ANNOUNCES SUMMER ACTIVITIES AND DISCOUNTED PRICING

Rediscover the desert this summer with a variety of experiences happening at Desert Botanical Garden. Stroll through the Garden trails with your friends and family while enjoying refreshing fun drinks and live music, be amazed by night-blooming cactus, capture picture-perfect sunsets and surround yourself with the abundant beauty of the Garden. The Garden also offers summer camps for young explorers looking to have a great time and satisfy their curiosity about the natural world.

Beginning, June 1  through Sept. 4, Garden’s admission prices are dropping for summer. All guests will enjoy $16.95 admission from open to close. Please note the Garden is closed July 1-7.

Playing with Stars by Rotraut
Now-May 14  | Included with membership or Garden admission 

The bold and lyrical large-scale sculptures of Rotraut will enliven the Garden t​rails while a selection of her paintings and small sculpture fill the Ottosen Gallery. Known around the world, and based in Arizona, Rotraut’s artwork explores the energy of the seasons and the relationship of nature with the sky, sun and universe.

Majestic Mariposas
Now-May 14 | 9:30 a.m.- 5 p.m. | Included with membership or Garden admission
Families can get an up-close and unforgettable experience when more than 2,000 native Southwestern butterflies return for the Spring Butterfly Exhibit. Get acquainted with thousands of butterflies, observe each stage of their life cycle and learn what actions we can take to protect them.

Dog Days at the Garden

Paws up for Dog Days at the Garden! Explore the trails with your pup, smell the spring wildflowers and pose for photos on Saturday mornings.

Mother’s Day in the Garden

Celebrate the moms in your life with a botanical good time! The Garden will offer a day to remember with complimentary photo opps, live entertainment, the Spring Butterfly Exhibit and more!

Candles, Cocktails and Cactus

Get creative this Mother’s Day weekend with this two-person interactive botanical candle making experience, enjoy one complimentary mimosa per guest as you create and explore the beauty of spring at the Garden. Guests must be 21+. A nonalcoholic options is also available. Garden admission is included with class purchase.

Bouquets and Mimosas for Mom

The Rite of Spring by Ballet Arizona

Join us for the highly anticipated world premiere of The Rite of Spring by Artistic Director Ib Andersen. Let’s grow with books! Join our children education associates as they guide children ages 0-5 and their caregivers through weekly themed stories, songs, and playtime surrounding the garden and desert. Program is included with admission.

Desert Adventure Camp (Ages 8 – 12)

Join us for desert survival camp and learn how to be desert smart around plants, creatures and when you partake in desert adventures. Camp includes animal encounters and behind-the-scenes Garden adventures.

Four Days, Four Trails (Ages 8 – 12)
June 12-15, July 24-27 | $250 members, $295 non-members, Early Bird Price for all $250
During this week’s camp explore four trails in four days! Discover the Garden’s desert plants and animals through nature play, science experiments and art projects. Each participant will also create a mini garden to take home!

Landscape Photography (Ages 13 – 18)
June 26 – 29 | $250 members, $295 non-members, Early Bird Price for all $250
Love photography and want to learn more? Explore the fundamentals of photography right from your phone, from composition to shutter speeds to editing. With the Garden’s fantastic plants and wildlife as your inspiration, you’ll get the perfect shots for social media or hone your skills for a future career. Experiment with digital photography, lumen prints and cyanotypes.

 

Sonoran Sippin’

Heat up a summer full of fun at the Garden. Gather your family and friends each month on the second Friday nights for refreshing welcome drinks, live music, pop-up activities, Garden strolls and more! All ages are welcome.

Flashlight Nights
June 3-Sept. 2 | 6-9:30 p.m. | Included with membership or Garden admission ( excludes July 1)
Make summer shine at Flashlight Nights. Bring a flashlight and enjoy the Garden after dark with performances, cool treats, hands-on activities and creature features.

Father’s Day
June 17 | 6-9:30 p.m. | Dads free with a paid admission, use promo code DAD23
Celebrate the rad dads in your life at Flashlight Nights on June 17. Dads get in free with a paid child admission. The Garden will have free popsicles for the dads! Plus, enjoy the Garden at night with the entire family at Flashlight Nights.

Juneteenth
June 19 | TIMES TBD | Included with Garden Admission
Join us as we commemorate Juneteenth at the Garden. Stroll through the trails to enjoy a day filled with activities that celebrate Black culture and traditions.
