Plant Adaptations Tour
now – May 11; 9,10, and 11 a.m.

Discover how plants have adapted to the desert environment with a volunteer docent-led tour. See the Garden’s living collection with plants from around the world and the Sonoran Desert and their fascinating survival strategies in this arid climate. Walk away with a new appreciation for the beauty of the desert and the plants and animals that call it home.

*Docent tours are subject to availability, upcoming tour times will be posted onsite daily at the Cohn Gathering Area.

Plants & People of the Sonoran Desert Docent Tour:
April 1 – May 11, Mon. – Fri 9:30 a.m.

Explore the Plants and People of the Sonoran Desert trail with a docent-led tour. Learn how plants are integral to the lives of people who live in the Sonoran Desert historically, currently, and looking to the future. This trail features five habitats of the Sonoran Desert and shows how Akimel and Tohono O’odham , and San Carlos Apache people have lived successfully here for hundreds of years. The tour is an hour in length, and we recommend that guests wear close toed toes and a hat, and also bring water. Meet at the trailhead.

Tour size limited to 10 guests.
