Volunteer Information Session

Interested in volunteering at Desert Botanical Garden? Volunteers are needed for the following positions this fall season and beyond.

  • Guest Guide: Greet Garden visitors with a friendly face, enhance their experience by providing trail guidance, map orientation, daily schedule information and more.
  • Discovery Guide: Share desert knowledge. and engage visitors with hands-on, multi-sensory experiences at Discovery Stations located throughout the Garden. Station topics range from cactus skeletons and birds to agave and more.
  • Docent: Spark wonder, and share desert knowledge with visitors, transforming their experience into one of discovery and meaning. Docents lead themed guided tours and facilitate Discovery Stations in the Garden.

All three positions have openings for weekends and weekdays shifts in both morning and afternoon.

The Leaf Connection

The Leaf  Connection showcases the vibrant plant diversity of the Phoenix metro area through an intricate display of hand-made, ceramic leaves at Webster Center. With more than 1,000 ceramic pieces, each leaf’s design is influenced by observations community scientists record on iNaturalist, an established online platform where nature lovers share information on biodiversity.

Orchid Fever

Toward 2050

Feb. 8 - June 1

Explore an engaging exhibit led by textile-based artist Ann Morton, centered on social practice. TOWARD 2050 invites the public to craft handmade artworks that expresses their views on the environment.
