Celebrate Día de Muertos with a one-of-kind dining experience at the Garden that will immerse you in the flavors of the Mexican tradition. Visit the Garden’s Community Altar followed by an exquisite four-course menu prepared by Mexican chef Ricardo Aguirre of Tamales y Tacos Puebla and Mexican food designer and artist Victoria Molina. The meal will transport you through a neo-ritual of Día de Muertos, creating new interactions and symbolisms around the table and the ceremonial of food, the ritual as a process in continuous evolution.
The dinner’s theme is “Flowers We were and Flowers We will Become” (Flores Fuimos y en Flores nos Convertiremos) inspired by earthly life is temporary. A common thread will be flowers. Have you noticed that some of the foods we consume were flowers before they were food? And, that other foods must be harvested before they bloom? To wander through the world of the living is to walk between these two floral states, a kind of journey from point A to point B, a journey that allows life to continue.
