Morning Tai Chi Classes

The Garden is the traditional setting for the ancient flowing movements of Tai Chi Chuan, the health-boosting Chinese martial art that fuses Yin and Yang. The movements improve breathing, reduce stress and stimulate the mind, promoting longevity and good health. All physical levels and ages are welcome. This class is held outdoors; please dress appropriately for the weather. Instructed by Yuri Grevtsev.

Natural History of the Sonoran Desert

Sept. 18

The Arizona Natural History course will introduce students to the geology, flora, fauna and human history of Arizona. Using information and theories from biology, ecology, geology and archaeology, the class will explore the adaptations of desert animals, plants and other life forms, the landscape that set the stage for their evolution and the human cultures that have called this desert home.
