The Great Arizona Puppet Theater will be coming to the desert this year! Create a wonderful day at the Desert Botanical Garden. Enjoy an award-winning puppet show and spend time exploring our trails and the Cactus Clubhouseour special play area for children and caregivers​.

Meet silly Sammy Saguaro, his wise Grandpa and the desert birds and animals that call the saguaro their home in this funny, award-winning show about this amazing cactus and its role here in the beautiful Sonoran Desert.

The Jackrabbit and the Desert Tortoise | November 11 | Performances at 9:30 and 11:30a.m. | Puppet Making 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. | Boppart Courtyard
This funny version of Aesop’s “Tortoise and the Hare” fable features slow and steady Dusty the Desert Tortoise in an epic race against wild Jack the Jackrabbit, set in the beautiful Sonoran Desert. There’s plenty of audience participation as you cheer for your favorite athlete! After each performance, stay to make your own puppet!
