Purpose
The Community Partnerships team connects the Garden with nonprofit organizations, advocacy groups, public agencies and civic partners to create meaningful impact across our community. Guided by the Garden’s mission to bring people together to protect and celebrate the unique wonders of the desert, we build strategic partnerships that advance desert living across the region.
Through meaningful partnerships, we strive to:
- Foster inclusion by creating welcoming spaces where every voice is valued.
- Celebrate diversity by honoring the many cultures, perspectives and experiences that enrich our community.
- Advance equity by reducing barriers to access and opportunity.
- Increase accessibility so people of all abilities can fully experience our trails, exhibits and programs.

Partner Events
To meaningfully reflect the vibrant tapestry of our community, the Garden partners with local organizations and businesses to reach new audiences by creating inclusive experiences that celebrate culture, connection and belonging in the Sonoran Desert.
Government Relations & Advocacy
The Garden works with government officials, public agencies and community leaders to advance conservation, sustainability and community well-being. Through education and nonpartisan advocacy, we help inform public policy and support a thriving desert community.
Community Garden
The Garden’s off-site Community Garden brings people together through gardening education, while providing fresh produce to community partners. Since 2022, the garden at Spaces of Opportunity has engaged BIPOC communities, youth and others historically underrepresented through hands-on activities, community resources and action. Spaces of Opportunity
With support from the Garden, Spaces of Opportunity is transforming a South Phoenix food desert into a food oasis. Its 19-acre incubator farm, farmers market and community programs promote healthy living, fresh food and cultural connections. Spacesofopportunity.org
Open Door Access
On the second Tuesday of each month, everyone can enjoy the Garden with pay-what-you-can admission. From September through June, we partner with community organizations to offer hands-on, family-friendly programs. It’s more than just access to the Garden; it’s about creating an inclusive space where everyone can connect with nature and their community.
SNAP Household Discount Admission
The Garden is proud to offer a SNAP discount, making it easier for families to experience the Garden together. Families who present a valid SNAP EBT card and matching photo ID can receive $9.95 admission per person Sunday through Thursday, valid for up to 4 guests per EBT card. This benefit reflects the Garden’s commitment to ensuring that more members of our community can connect with nature, discover the Sonoran Desert and enjoy the Garden year-round.
