Steve Erickson joined Desert Botanical Garden in June 2025. Steve provides strategic leadership for the Garden’s education department and plays a key role in shaping the organization’s next strategic plan. As a member of the Garden’s leadership team, Steve works to advance the Garden’s mission through innovative educational programming, community engagement and expanded learning initiatives.
Steve brings nearly two decades of experience in education leadership. He began his career as a Teach For America corps member in 2005, teaching fourth and seventh grade in West Phoenix. He went on to serve in multiple leadership roles within Teach For America, serving on the national recruitment team and as executive director of the Phoenix region. During his tenure, Steve led efforts in alumni engagement, development, public affairs and strategic partnerships, significantly expanding the organization’s regional impact.
Steve is also a member of Asian Corporate & Entrepreneur Leaders (ACEL), supporting leadership development and advocacy in the Asian professional community.
Steve holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Entrepreneurship from the University of Arizona and an Executive MBA from Arizona State University.
