For small groups of up to 10 guests, these opportunities include a 90-minute private experience with a Desert Botanical Garden expert and general admission.

Scheduling is subject to staff availability. Per the City of Phoenix mandate, face coverings are required for guests ages 6 and older.

Wild Trails

You’ve seen the colorful animals, but do you know their stories? In this walk with a Garden expert, learn the lore behind each of the Wild Rising by Cracking Art sculptures, and discover the journey of a major art exhibition from conception to installation.

Landscaping In Motion

This experience connects guests directly with a Garden horticulture specialist. As you explore the trails, learn the basics of landscape design, installation and maintenance, as well as how to translate these basics into your home landscaping.

Go behind the scenes with private access to the state-of-the-art Hazel Hare Center for Plant Science. See the inner workings of the Garden’s greenhouses, conservation laboratory, propagation areas, and learning lab. See what horticultural practices are used to care for the living collections.

Want to dive even deeper into the Garden’s secrets? Explore the most fascinating areas of on-site research—the library and its collection of rare books, the seed laboratory and renowned Herbarium, where a research expert will guide your group through our process of preservation for 92,000 accessioned plant specimens. 

‘Grammable Garden Shoot

Join a Garden insider who shares the most-photogenic features. Whether you are looking for a stunning backdrop or a particularly sculptural cactus, you’ll find all the best spots for a photo and learn tips and tricks for capturing that perfect shot. 

Meet the Agave

Did you know that the Garden has the most-prominent agave collection in the United States, displaying 186 of the 212 known species? A horticulture expert will share some of the rarest and most interesting species in the living collection. Add-on: For a full Garden to glass experience, pair this with a private Tequila Tasting. 

Nature Play

Create, climb, build and explore in the new Cactus Clubhouse. Kids of all ages can independently play as they engage with the natural world around them. With areas designed to let kids be kids, build family memories together at the Garden.

Butterfly Immersion

For a truly other-worldly outing, immerse yourself in the butterfly exhibit, and experience the magic of the mighty monarchs and other Southwestern butterflies. This 100% private experience includes your own butterfly exhibit staff member to highlight the exhibit’s features and answer all your questions.

Private Butterfly Release

This experience includes the same private access as the Butterfly
Immersion with the added opportunity to help release new butterflies into the exhibit. This is the perfect setting for intimate moments of celebration and commemoration with your closest loved ones.

For small groups of up to 10 guests, these food and beverage experiences last 60 to 90 minutes and are served in a private area.

Prices are all-inclusive.

Boxed Picnic

Includes choice of (2) boxed salad or sandwich lunch options with water and prickly pear iced tea. 

Brunch & Bubbles

Includes green chile chicken quiche, fresh fruit, breakfast pastries, coffee and a build-your-own mimosa bar.

Mocktail Hour

Includes botanical-themed mocktails and an assortment of cheeses, nuts, dried fruits, savory watermelon cups, mango chicken salad profiteroles, roast beef crostini and flourless chocolate cake bites.

Afternoon Tea

Includes an assortment of loose-leaf teas, caprese skewers, petite chicken and cucumber sandwiches, grape and honeydew gazpacho shooters, lemon lavender cupcakes and seasonal fruit tartlets.

Tequila Tasting

Learn about the difference between three tiers of tequila: blanco, resposado and anejo. A beverage expert will provide education and discussion about how each tequila is made and their distinguishing characteristics. Experience includes take home desert-inspired cocktail recipes for each tier. 

Wine Tasting

Enjoy a private tasting flight of three locally-sourced Arizona wines. A beverage expert will provide education and discussion about how each wine is made and their distinguishing characteristics. Whole bottles are available for purchase on request.



Groups can enhance their visit with plants and products themed to their experience. Custom pairings available upon request.

After participating in Butterfly Immersion or Butterfly Release, take home an Arizona Milkweed plant—the host plant of the Monarch butterfly.
