Brownie bugs workshop

March 25 | Brownie (2nd – 3rd Grade)

Bugs big and small are important to not only our environment but also to the way we live. Desert Botanical Garden’s Brownie Bugs workshop explores how bugs impact mankind and the environment in a number of ways including conservation practices to create a better environment for bugs of all kinds. The program helps Girl Scouts develop an appreciation of bugs, respect for their role in the environment and knowledge of how to contribute in stewardship for different bug species.

This workshop will accomplish all criteria for the Brownie “Bugs” badge.

junior gardener workshop

April 8 | Juniors (3rd – 4th Grade)

The act of cultivating and growing plants is known as gardening. We raise a variety of plants at Desert Botanical Garden for various purposes. In the Junior Gardener workshop, Girl Scouts can earner their badge through hands-on activities, fun group projects and working in their own garden. The program helps Girl Scouts develop a love of gardening, respect for the environment and a passion for giving back to world in which they live.

This workshop will accomplish all criteria for the Junior “Gardener” badge.
