Desert Botanical Garden’s newest exhibition, Wild Rising by Cracking Art, is traveling straight from Milan with more than 1,000 animal sculptures made from colorful and recyclable plastic. Be among the first to see Cracking Art’s Arizona debut at the grand opening event at the Garden Oct. 12.
Visitors of all ages will be drawn to engage with these vibrant creatures and discover that plastic does not have to end up in landfills, but it can be reinvented into something eye-catching and thought-provoking. The creatures featured in Wild Rising not only capture the magnificence of nature but also address global and local sustainability and conservation issues, including climate change, plastic in the oceans and the importance of recycling.
During the grand opening event, guests can have their faces painted like their favorite animal, experience Cocoon-the Garden’s area for nature play-and join The Be Kind Crew of The Be Kind People Project in an animal protector parade around the Garden. Finally, waddle into a photo op with the 4-foot penguins to commemorate a visit to Wild Rising. An on-site DJ will keep the party going, and food and beverage will be available for purchase.
