Flashlight Nights are nighttime self-guided adventures through Desert Botanical Garden. Nocturnal explorers can bring their own flashlights to shine along the trails to capture the night-blooming plants and animals that appear in the desert after dark. Each evening of Flashlight Nights includes socially-distanced activities for all ages.

Don’t leave Flashlight Nights empty handed! For the first time ever, enjoy a nighttime farmer’s market stocked full of fresh, locally grown produce, local honey, handmade soaps and more! Restock your pantry with fruits and vegetables grown by vendors and farmers from Spaces of Opportunity, a 10-acre incubator farm in South Phoenix.

Weekly Performances:
August 14 | 7 & p.m. | Primavera Folklorico
Presenting the “people’s story” utilizing music, dance and dress of the diverse cultures of Mexico.
August 21 | 7 & 8:15 p.m. | Great Arizona Puppet Theater, Creepy, Crawly, Wild & Wooly 
This environmental award-winning show features stories about endangered species in Arizona – including the Arizona ridge-nosed rattlesnake, the California condor, sanborn’s long-nose bat and desert tortoise.
August 28 | 7 & 8 p.m. | Mariachi Pasión
All female mariachi band

Please bring your own flashlight from home.

A bar is available at 
Ottosen Entry Garden and will accept only credit and debit payment.

The Garden Shop will be open until 8pm.

Online reservations are required and are limited to 50 guests every 30 minutes. Last admission is 8:30 p.m.

We want you to enjoy the Garden and be safe, please remember:
  • Face masks are required for all indoor spaces and outdoors when social distancing is not possible. Thank you for cooperating, we are all in this together. 

  • The Garden has implemented a one-way entry and exit route, which is designed to promote social distancing guidelines.

  • You are required to maintain a physical distance of 6 feet from visitors not in your party at all times.

  • Hand sanitizer stations are located throughout the Garden.

Desert Botanical Garden invites kids to engage with the outdoors around them at Cactus Clubhouse–a nature play space. The play area provides unstructured, child-led activities for kids under 12 to discover the fun of the natural world.
