Fernando Botero, renowned Colombian figurative artist and sculptor, has established himself as one of the most recognized living artists of our time. With his distinctive style and mastery of form, Botero’s influence extends far beyond Latin America. His works enrich prominent sites around the world, such as New York’s illustrious Park Avenue and the iconic Champs Elysées in Paris.
Botero’s spectacular works are in more than 200 museums around the world, and exhibitions of his work have been mounted at the New York Botanical Garden, the Atlanta Botanical Garden, the Missouri Botanical Garden, Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Garden, the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, and the Gardens by the Bay in Singapore.
The Garden mourns the departure of Maestro Fernando Botero on September 15, 2023. Art has the power to touch the soul and unite us all, and his creative legacy will shine forever.
The exhibition is a collaboration with the Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) in Long Beach, California which is dedicated to modern and contemporary Latin American and Latin art.
