Let your imagination run wild! Desert Botanical Garden’s Cocoon: A Place for Garden Play is where young visitors, and the young at heart, can build, create and explore the natural world through hands-on activities. Find Cocoon: A Place for Garden play just outside the Butterfly Pavilion.

Wild Rising Creature Safari
The creatures of Wild Rising by Cracking Art have special challenges just for you. Look for the five snail-shaped signs throughout the Garden to complete each activity.

Mighty Monarchs
9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. | Daily through Nov. 3
Calling all Junior Scientists! Visit the Garden’s Butterfly Pavilion to discover butterflies of the Southwest. Pick up a Butterfly Adventure Guide to explore and find how butterflies eat, grow and survive.

APS Butterfly Landing at Butterfly Pavilion
Garden Staff offer a closer look at the magnificent world of insects through microscopic views, expert-led butterfly walks, milkweed plantings and more.

Marley Learning Labs at Hazel Hare Center for Plant Science

Visit the Hazel Hare Center for Plant Science for Family Playtime Pop-ups, located outside the Marley Learning Labs. Featured activities invite families to participate in hands-on nature experiences.

Join the conversation of Wild Rising by Cracking Art with Elephant in the Room, a thought-provoking installation in Ottosen Gallery that invites visitors to dig into rotating worldly topics and commit to reducing human impact on the natural world. The interactive exhibit will feature topics related to biodiversity and climate change, including environmental happiness, cactus as a threatened species and the culture of convenience.

Music in the Garden Spring 2020

Desert Botanical Garden presents a spectacular lineup of talent at the Music in the Garden Spring Concert Series. These popular events feature some of the best local and regional musicians. Ullman Terrace provides an unmatchable backdrop of mature saguaros and other desert plants, as audiences ages 21 and older enjoy the sounds of favorite bands and discover new talent. Food and drink, including a selection of boutique wines, are available for purchase.
